Easter 2013

This was the first year that the Easter Bunny hid eggs for Scott to find.
I bet it's because he knew that Scott wasn't quite ready to find them.
Scott was ready this year and he had so much fun finding them.
We had so much fun watching him.
Everyone made him pause and check them out.
He recognized the ones he dyed and had to show them to us.
He also would try to open the plastic ones.
But we stopped him from digging into the candy too early.
Scott's incredible teacher strikes again.
I tried teaching Scott about forgiveness and the Savior's love for us and thought that would have to do.
Well his teacher taught him the whole story and gave him his beautiful grassy knoll including a tumb.
She is just amazing.
Here is our family after church.
My family would always take a family picture every Easter in our cute new Easter clothes.
I decided we needed to start this tradition.
After all Family is what it all comes down to.

Sensory Table

My mom and day surprised the grand kids with a sensory table for Christmas.
It has been awesome.
They used the left over composite wood from their deck to make the frame and legs and bought a small plastic trauf to fit on top.
During the winter we have had it inside full of rice.
But with the weather getting nice we have been able to bring it outside and fill it with water.
I need to try to find more things to do with it.
He loves playing with it and it helps his sensory issues so much.
Thanks Grandpa for making it for him.

Scottosaurous Rex

While living in the village a friend of ours gave Scott a nick name.
Scottosuarous Rex!
Just a bit on the mark I'd say since every time he likes someone he Roars at them.
Which is what he always did to our friend Cam.
Scott is absolutely in love with dinosaurs.
He thinks about them all day long.
He dreams about them at night (sometimes he talks in his sleep).
He eats them, breakfast he likes Coco Dino Bites, lunch we turn his sandwich into two long necks with a cutter, and for dinner he eats dino nuggets.
Thanks to Sid in "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" he now eats broccoli.
Scott also prays for his dinosaurs.
This past week Scott started saying prayers on his own.
He thanks our Father for the dinosaur museum, for the T Rex, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Allosaurus, and so on.
He goes through about 10 to 15 sometimes.
He's just added Godzilla to the list after watching a silly cartoon of it.
As of now I find this completely adorable.
He tells his Father about the things he loves.
He may not be thinking about it that way but I love that he does it and I can still take his example.
Not just ask for blessings but be more grateful for the things I love and to tell my Father about all that I do.
Another cute/ funny thing that Scott just did happened this morning.
Well, first off, whenever Mark and I hug or kiss Scott has to join in.
He sees us hugging and he runs over and squeezes between our legs and hugs us.
If we kiss he comes over and gives us kisses.
If we say "I love you" to one another he says it too.
I just love that he knows where he belongs and that's with us.
Well this morning Mark came over as I was resting (I'm sick) and told me he loved me and kissed me.
Scott was laying next to me and leaned in for Mark to kiss him.
But the funny thing is that the way Mark said "I love you" to me Scott said "Allosaurus" and expected a kiss.
I guess that's another way of saying "I love you."
I don't know but he did the same thing right after Mark kissed him to me and also wanted a kiss after.
This kid is a mystery to me.
I just adore him and his love of dinosaurs.
Allosaurus Scotty Boy!
XOXO

Vernal Trip

Well Kelsie moved to Vernal a while ago.
I've been wanting to visit her there ever since she left.
But life happens and we had to keep putting it off.
But I decided to make it happen this time, with or without Melissa.
What do you know Melissa was able to come also.
We had such a great time.
We all talked as if no time had passed and the kids started playing as if no time had passed.
Isn't that just how it is with besties though?!
While there we went to the dinosaur museum and it did not disappoint.
Scott had a great time and we impressed everyone with our great knowledge of all the dinosaurs.
Melissa and Kelsie would ask us what the names of the dinosaurs were then check the sign to see if we were right.
We always were.
They started hoping we would get it wrong but Scott and I have been studying dinosaurs for well over a year now.
We also got in some shopping oddly enough.
I didn't go there thinking I would spend any money.
I means it's Vernal.
What could I possibly find there that I couldn't find in SLC?
But one of Kelsie's friends informed her that there was a lady in town selling a lot of way cute clothes and the big city building.
It was kinda like a small town expo.
The booths were pretty much all selling hunting gear or stuff to trick out your truck (I have never seen more trucks in my life while there).
But there was one lady that was selling really cute clothes and they were all great prices.
We dropped tons of cash buying stuff.
Somehow Vernal surprised me.
There was just two things we didn't do while there and that was stuff our face with brownies and make orange julius.
Oh well, we will have to just plan another trip.
Here are the kiddies making funny faces at the Dinosaur Museum.
 Here's us girls squeezing together.
We also thought we'd decorate eggs since Easter was just a week away.
Scott has only known decorating eggs with these girls.
It's a tradition that I think we're gonna have to keep.
Scott loves decorating eggs and tries to steal his friends eggs after he's done with his.
When we stop him he grabs the ones he's already done and recolors them so most of his eggs turn out brown in the end.
Keni hasn't been feeling so well for quite some time.
Kels doesn't know why but she seems to just always be tired.
Kels did say that she was more lively then she'd been in a long time while we were there.
Poor thing.
I know the real Keni and as fun as she was while there we knew that something was up with the poor darling.
Hope you feel better soon Kenners.
I also go to spend some much needed time with Brock.
He has the sweetest smile and I couldn't stop giving him loves.
I'm very happy to report that I won him over and he was reaching for me while his mom was holding him towards the end of the visit.
Jaeley was just so happy to be with her best friend Keni again.
She seemed to just never calm down with excitement and happiness.
I think Brayden enjoyed being with another boy his same age.
Brock and Brayd were pretty cute together.
We had such a great time and the time past way too fast.
Sorry it took so long to get out there Kels, I wont let it take so long again.

MCDONALDS

When I was little I was obsessed with McDonalds.
My mom said that we would be driving in the car and every time I saw the double golden arch I would yell out "MCDONALDS" and beg to go there.
EVERY TIME!
Well Scott is proving to be like his mom again.
Since McDonalds is in almost every Walmart it seems I often stop there to get a large Dr. Pepper, it's only a dollar.
Every now and again we will go strait to Walmart after school and I'll get Scott a happy meal for lunch.
Seriously this happens at most twice a month so don't judge me, I know it's not great for him.
Well one day we went to Walmart very first thing in the morning and we got to have breakfast at McD's.
I hadn't had breakfast there for probably a decade and this was Scott's first time.
He loved it.

Bus

Scott has been going to school since he turned three.
It hasn't been easy.
He doesn't transition well.
Especially when it's transitioning away from his momma.
But he's been getting better at the separation and even stopped crying when he was going to school.
So the next step was to start the bus.
Here's Scott waiting for the bus outside our house.
Here comes the bus.
Here's Scott getting on the bus and telling me to come on also.
And the last one is of Scott starting to call my name when he realized I wasn't staying on with him.
Sites like this break my heart.
This is why it's easier for me to just give in because I'm a sucker for that face.
He just doesn't understand what's happening.
I want so badly to take all his fears away and make sure he is always safe and happy.
I wish he could understand that I do these things to help him grow.
Times like this that I get a glimpse of how our Father in Heaven feels.
Someday you will understand why you go through these challenges Scott.
Just know that I don't challenge you to punish you but to help you grow stronger.
I love you Scotty Boy!
